June – August
Long bright evenings, swims in Skälderviken bay and the tennis week in Båstad. Dinner on the terrace long after sunset.
September – November
The beech forest on Hallandsåsen turns gold, the sea gets dramatic and the village grows quiet again. Made for hiking and slow breakfasts.
December – February
Christmas and New Year by the fire, silent nature and a few hours of low winter light over the ridge. You come here to slow down.
March – May
Wood anemones on the slopes, early birdsong and golf courses opening up. The peninsula wakes before high season begins.

July
The Nordic Open fills the town with tennis, terraces and crowds. Book accommodation and tables well in advance.

The harbour restaurants keep the summer going with crayfish parties, music and warm evenings.

Harvest season in the farm shops, apple must and golden beech forest on Hallandsåsen.

Christmas markets in Båstad and Torekov, advent coffee and quiet, empty beaches.

Golf courses open, Norrviken opens its gates and Easter is calm and bright.
Location
The house sits on Kungsberget, some 130 metres above sea level on the slope of Hallandsåsen. Views and silence up here, yet only minutes down to the beach, harbour and town.
Good to know
Kungsberget is reached by a proper climb up the ridge. It is part of why the view is what it is, but worth knowing before you load the bikes.
From Malen the road climbs around 130 metres over a couple of kilometres. Easy by car all year, but the final stretch is steep and winding – take it slowly when meeting oncoming traffic, after dark or in winter conditions.
Rolling down to the beach and town is a joy; coming back up is hard work on a regular bike. We recommend an e-bike, the car or the bus for the return. On foot, allow around 40 minutes uphill.
Malenbadet and the long sandy beach are 4 km away; Båstad harbour and the town centre with restaurants, shops and the tennis stadium about 4–4.5 km. All within ten minutes by car.
Free parking for two cars on the property. The driveway is gravelled and sloping – large motorhomes and trailers are not recommended.
